I called a sweep to try and get the bird out, but by the time he arrived... the little feathered rascal had disappeared!
We can only think he somehow managed to skitter back UP the chimney and out to freedom.
My next call was to a chimney mason, who came and put a "cage" atop the stack. No more surprise guests!
Gee... a Cavalier who snores? I have two snoring at my feet as I type. We once fostered a large shaggy Blenheim boy who could have taken prizes for snoring. My mother phoned, and Charlie was snoring in the background. My Mom asked, "What kind of machinery is making all that noise?"

A Happy New Year to you, your family, and your dear Cavalier!
CassCass @ That Old Househttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12173199705431319322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4308354418951384708.post-78166058740282809572009-01-09T16:21:00.000+00:002009-01-09T16:21:00.000+00:00All cleared up again thanks Dani!...and that hubby...All cleared up again thanks Dani!
...and that hubby of mine still hasn't made any trips up onto the roof!
Hope we don't get a whole bird family down the chimney next time!
- MMolly's Mellow Momentshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01627532915624967065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4308354418951384708.post-27722296576695382592009-01-09T14:49:00.000+00:002009-01-09T14:49:00.000+00:00oh, molly:Oi have had that happen once; thankfully...oh, molly:O
i have had that happen once; thankfully i was able to shew the robin out before it left any "calling cards":/ ha, too funny that hubby thought they'd lost their balance (both of them at the same time;)!!! i envisioned the two doing a balancing act around your chimney and bumping into each other (hence the fall):? (do darling starlings even have cerebellums???).
your hubby really should think about writing cartoons, tee-hee:P
if that were to happen here on the lane, maggie (at 3), would definitely awake from her VERY loud snoring (they ARE snorers, no?) but only to FOLLOW me into the room with all the clatter.
bless your heart; i hope you have gotten everything clean so as not to catch any of those nasty diseases the darlings carry:D
love,
danidanihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09238327752920852333noreply@blogger.com
